Celebrating Qixi Festival at Huilongfeng Container: A Taste of Chinese Culture and Love

2026/08/19

What Is Qixi Festival?

Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day or Double Seventh Festival, falls on the seventh day of the seventh month of the traditional Chinese lunar calendar. The festival has a history of around 2,000 years and is closely connected with one of China's most famous love stories — the legend of Niulang (the Cowherd) and Zhinü (the Weaver Girl).

According to the legend, the two lovers were separated by the Milky Way and could meet only once a year, on the seventh night of the seventh lunar month. Magpies were said to form a bridge across the stars so that they could finally reunite.

It is a beautiful story about love, devotion, patience and reunion.

From an Ancient Tradition to a Modern Festival

Qixi was not originally only a romantic festival for couples.

In traditional Chinese culture, young women would pray to Zhinü for wisdom, craftsmanship and a happy marriage. Traditional activities included needlework, weaving, stargazing and offering fruit or pastries. Different regions developed their own Qixi customs and foods.

Today, Qixi has taken on a more modern meaning.

For couples, it can be a day to:Give flowers or gifts,Enjoy a romantic dinner,Go out together,Take a short trip,Share a special meal

For married couples and families, it can be much simpler — cooking something delicious at home, having coffee together, going out for the day, or simply spending more time with each other.

The traditions may change, but the idea remains familiar to people everywhere:

Love is not only about grand gestures. Sometimes it is about making time for the people who matter.

A Cup of Coffee for Our Team

At Huilongfeng Container, we spend most of our days thinking about steel, welding, production schedules, drawings and customized container solutions.

This Qixi Festival, we prepared coffee for our sales colleagues. It was a small celebration, but it gave everyone a chance to take a short break, enjoy a cup of coffee and share a little of China's traditional culture.

For us, celebrating a traditional festival is also about appreciating the people who make our work possible.

From Chinese Tradition to Global Connections

We manufacture shipping containers, custom container houses, special purpose containers and customized equipment containers for customers in China and overseas.

Our products may be made of steel, but our business is built on something much more human: communication, trust and long-term cooperation.

Perhaps that is another reason Qixi is worth sharing with customers around the world.

Different countries may celebrate love in different ways. But appreciation, companionship and trust are universal.

From all of us at Huilongfeng Container, Happy Qixi Festival!

May there be more good coffee, more meaningful moments, and more happy reunions both at home and around the world.
